Nearby Chumbe Island is a coral reef sanctuary and has won numerous awards for ecotourism and conservation. Pemba Island makes for an elegant retreat.

This great country can be explored by land in comfortable 4x4 cars such as Land Rovers or Land Cruisers or by flying into an area and taking safaris from there. Safaris may be by vehicle, on foot, horseback, or even from a balloon. Flights from the main land are available into Zanzibar where you can transfer to the hotel of your choice.
