Tanzania, a land of wide open plains covered with game, proud tribal names, snow capped mountains, dark forests, millions of migrating animals, flamingo-filled lakes and white sandy beaches. This is by far one of the best places for game-viewing and for those looking to compliment their holiday with some time on a beautiful beach, Tanzania has this to offer too. Just 35kms offshore from the capital Dar es Salaam, lies the exotic spice island of Zanzibar, known for its aromatic spices like cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon ever since it was discovered by Arab traders in the 8th century. Beach resorts can also be found not far from Dar es Salaam, as well as on the islands of Pembaand Mafia.
This great country can be explored by land in comfortable 4x4 vehicles or by flying into an area and taking safaris from there. Safaris may be by vehicle, on foot, horseback, or even from a balloon. Flights from the main land are available into Zanzibar where you can transfer to the hotel of your choice.
