A travel scout travels to verify a Hello Africa Travel listing and tell the story of Hello Africa Travel through the photographs they take and memories they make.
Assignments could include exploring a heritage site, joining a multi-day group trip or glamping in the mountains.
The travel scout is responsible for providing photographs that captures the assignment. Your photographs will help to set expectations for travellers who may want to visit in the future.
As a Travel Scout, you have full control of your own earnings!
Upload 15 - 20 photographs per the assignment, and you’ll get paid. Assignments pay anything from R750.00.
There is no maximum for assignments a travel scout can claim, though we ask that travel scouts only claim as many assignments as they can commit to completing thoughtfully.
Note: This is not a full-time position. Travel Scouts are independent contractors.
We have assignments available in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia and new ones get added every month.
All available assignments are listed here. If you're an approved travel scout, you can claim any of these assignments.
We have no requirement on the number of assignments that must be completed— Travel Scouts are encouraged to pick up assignments whenever they have time. However, if you have at least one available assignment near you for over 1 year and do not claim it, we may remove you from the program.
We ask that, at minimum, Travel Scouts take content specific to the assignment they’ve booked. We recommend uploading 15 to 20 photos, depending on how many days or activities are available on the assignment. You are only required to shoot the assignment you’ve booked.
